Here at Firewood, community involvement and giving back have always been a part of our mission. Since the beginning, we believed it was our responsibility to support organizations that champion human dignity.

This drive to do good is so fundamental to who we are, we built an initiative around it.

Firewood in the Field, our giving-back platform, allows us to directly support organizations through financial contributions, donated marketing time, and volunteer efforts.

Lava Mae, which delivers hygiene and restores dignity to San Francisco’s homeless population, is one of those remarkable groups we’ve worked with over the years. We met Lava Mae two years ago when one of our Firewoodians nominated the organization for Season of Giving, Firewood in the Field’s employee-led, holiday give-back initiative.

In addition to raising funds, the goal of Season of Giving is to intentionally connect with organizations to build a longer-lasting partnership—one that drives further charitable giving through pro-bono digital marketing efforts using Google Ads.

This is the Season of Giving

As we reflect on our partnership with Lava Mae, we’re excited to connect with even more organizations that are making an impact on our communities. Not only in San Francisco, but also in the other places we reside.

The Season of Giving is, once again, officially upon us, along with our call for employees to nominate local charities and organizations that are changing lives every day. Through a simple nomination process, employees tell us a bit about the charities they’ve chosen, along with how its goals align with our own.

It’s no secret that our hearts especially go out to those charities that support the disempowered among us. As long as they are nondiscriminatory and embrace equal employment opportunities, all proposals receive equal consideration.

We take pride in building this continuous community of caring, because we know we’re making a real difference to real people.
